FIFA World Cup 2014 - Netherlands

The second day of 16 was dramatic. Costa Rica sent Greece home after the Penalty Shoot-Out while the Netherlands defeat Mexico thanks to the 2 goals in the last 10 min. You could tell that the Netherlands suffered a lot under the heat. But still the Mexican defense was unbreakable till the very end.

To celebrate the KNVB’s 125th year of foundation, Nike placed the new badge on the FIFA 2014 uniforms. The new badge has a white lion in the middle for the orange home shirt, symbolizing a new era of the Netherlands football is about to start. The crown is placed at the collar. The deep blue hue for the away shirt represents the royal family in the Netherlands. 

As fans, orange is to die for. With hints of blue and white to spice your looks up, I’m sure you will stand out among the crowds. 

FIFA World Cup 2014 - Brazil

The round of 16 starts today and two teams make through to the Quarter-Finals: Brazil and Colombia. I want to thank Chile for the great game. They really pressured the host till the Penalty Shoot-Out. Uruguay deserved to go home after what Luis Suarez did to Italy. 

Nike has been sponsoring team Brazil’s uniforms for many consecutive years. The signature yellow home shirt, which is known as “Canarinho”, symbolizes the nation’s prides and passions towards football. The blue away shirt was inspired by the Brazilian coastline and surf culture. Inside the shirts, a diamond from the flag is encircled by the Brazilian Portuguese phrase, “Nascide para jogar futebol” meaning “Born to play football”.

As fans, yellow and green are the top choices to support Brazil. After a quick search, yellow is the dominate color while green is used to match. Although it’s winter time at the other sphere, people there are boiled. Thus, I recommend crop tops or bikini tops.

In 1992, Canada proposed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil at the Earth Summit for this concept. And World Oceans Day has been celebrated since 2009 on every June 8.
