The Spring Festival is on February 19 this year. When I was a kid, I usually start clothes shopping with my parents around this time before the celebration. New outfits mean new starts for the new year.
My closet in Canada is small comparing to the walking closet back home. With the constraint space, it’s wiser to just purchase some red and/or gold accessaries for Spring Festival instead of a whole outfit.
Illesteva - red acetate sunglasses
The cherry-red “Lenard II” have larger frames to make your faces smaller magically. This will be your statement so minimize the visual impact of other pieces. You can choose a beige or charcoal dress.
Isabel Marant - Red skip-blend scarf
I can’t survive winters without scarfs. Cashmere, wool, silk… all cozy, warm and make me feel secured. You can also pick ones with patterns as that’s one of the biggest trends right now.
Marc Jacob - Trouble mini shoulder bag
This “Trouble” bag is the perfect size for the night and comes with a vanity mirror as well. The key is the size. With mini bags, you look younger and more alive.
Tamara Mellon - suede ankle boots + Robert Clergerie - lamé ankle boots
The spotlight will automatically shift onto you with a pair of outstanding boots. Or if you are with a tight budget for shoes investment, red socks are the alternative.
Perfect Moment - beanie
A cute red beanie with a playful pompom at the top. I’ve never tried red hats again since kindergarten. Maybe go with a darker shade. A trick is to wear red bottoms to echo the top so you are well-balanced.
