Inspired looks from a Disney princess - Belle

Belle appeared in Walt Disney’s film, Beauty and the Beast in 1991. In favor of creating “a Broadway-style musical with a strong heroine”, Linda Woolverton, the first-time screenwriter, created Belle, an intelligent, assertive and independent woman who is from a small town in France.

The animators were inspired by Judy Garland (her role as Dorothy Gale in The Wizard of Oz) and Julie Andrews (her role as Maria von Trapp in The Sound of Music) and decided to make Belle more European-looking, brown hair, hazel eyes and full lips.

Belle is a book-loving girl growing up in a provincial village life. The reviews from the media were positive in generate, tracing Belle as distinctive from the previous Disney heroines. Thanks to her intensive reading, Belle is more global, modern and self-sufficient.

Peter Pilotto for Lisa Marie Fernandez - bikini
The bright colors fused together for this scuba-inspired bikini. I like bikini with molded cups and bonded lining. That gives you more support and illustrate the figures better. Pair with Ancient Greek sandals to prove your independent spirits.

Lela Rose - draped gown
With a draped bodice and tired skirt, Lela Rose merges texture, volume and curves onto this silk-satin gown. This embellished pair of gloves will add elegance to the entire look with nude hue manicure.

Moschino - mini dress / Victoria Beckham - dress
I picked two baby yellow color, “stiff” dresses to fit Belle’s “bookworm” image. I also picked two clutches from Olympia Le-Tan’s limited edition. The first one is inspired by Katherine Milhous’s children’s tale published in 1954. The second one is from Paris-born Louise de Vilmorin’s Love Story. However, I picked two pairs to tone the styles differently. The Paulina pumps are for formal or semi-formal settings, and the Myriama sandals are for vacations.

Lulu & Co - metallic top & MSGM - Floral pique pants
This is a fun and playful look. The lightweight top is cut for a loose fit which is perfect for contrasting bottoms. The yellow pair has beautiful white floral-patter embroidery which reminds us this is a look for a princess. Regard to accessaries, less is more. This turquoise bracelet from Monica Vinader can spice it up.

Jason Wu - ruffled top & Vanessa Bruno - striped silk skirt
Bello grows up in Provence. The navy stripes definitely is on the list for a French Riviera look. Pair it with light and simple tops like the one I selected from the Jason We’s Spring ’14 collection. Round-frame sunglasses are in the fame.

KENZO - crepe shirt & DELPOZO - skirt
Pair this WOW embroidered skirt with the classic crepe shirt. Apparently, this voluminous skirt uses a technique from 19th century fashion - structured mesh petticoats. The bloom-pattern is perfect for the spring.
