Inspired looks from a Disney princess - Pocahontas

Pocahontas is the main character in Pocahontas and its sequel Journey to a New World. Her name means “Little Mischief” which reflects her intelligence, leadership and free-spirit in the movie. She as the daughter of the Native’s chief, is the first American Disney Princess. Pocahontas is also the first Disney Princess that has different lovers in each movie.

I’m not very familiar with Pocahontas. I have to admit that I haven’t watched the two movies until this year for the blog. However, I love her fondness towards nature and spirits. Her open mind towards the unknowns is inspiring to me.

Amy Vachal from the Voice looks like Pocahontas to both me and Gwen. She's known as the living Pocahontas.

Halston Heritage - feather-embellished gown
The hand-applied beads and feathers light this gorgeous piece with uniqueness and free-spirits which fits perfectly with Pocahontas’s characteristics.

Sacai Luck - poncho + Tamara Mellon - fringed shorts
The wool poncho looks cozy and warm while the fringed shorts adds more feel towards the Natives. Fringing items are also fun to wear and walk around with.

Chloe - poncho + Vince - suede leggings
The poncho is simply beautiful with patchwork of varied colours and prints. It is retro and effortless, but sets a statement in the meantime. Put on a pair of black over-knee boots would be perfect.

Alexander McQueen - cropped ruffled top + MIH Jeans - suede mini skirt
White goes well with Pocahontas’s skin tone and wavy hair. Sarah Burton’s collection emphasizes romance, blossom and rebirth. The ankle bracelet will be a final touch to the look.

Anna Sui - dress
Anna Sui is the master of lolita and bohemian styles. This dress is bold and direct. It is still cute with the two birds stitched along the hem.

Zimmermann - bikini

I am not sure whether Natives swim. But brown should be the colour to go for.
