Inspired looks from a Disney princess - Ariel

Ariel is a mermaid who first appeared in the Little Mermaid, which is based on Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Little Mermaid” fairy tale. Her distinct appearance consists of long, flowing red hair, a green tail, and a lavender seashell bikini top.

Since I was a little girl, I will listen to “The Little Mermaid” from my walk-man (which my mum bought for my violin practice) to sleep. Before seeing Disney’s animation version, I imagined the mermaid is always in vivid sea colors.

Norma Kamali - Mio crossover swimsuit
This is a glamorous halterneck swimsuit with a chic crossover front and soft ruching that defines your figure. Grab a lilac or other light color tote and silver flats and behave like a little mermaid under the sea.

Alberta Ferretti - Silk gown
I didn’t hesitate to pick this leaf-green Alberta Ferretti gown as the princess look. The fabric - silk falls into elegant drapes. Ariel’s look has a pair of pumps in the same color like this mint pair from Jimmy Choo.

Michael Kors - Crepe sheath dress
This is a more office look for Ariel. Love the light blue as it reminds me the Mediterranean. Sand inserts add spices and sexiness which conclude the dress finely. Wear your studs earring and a pair of simple white pumps.

3.1 Phillip Lim - Embellished tank & J BRAND - 815 coated skinny jeans
The crystals and sequin on this 3.1 Phillip Lim flows on the tank like the ocean, which is perfect for Ariel. The platinum coating of the jeans aligns with the top. I suggest to choose a deep color for the shoes to balance the colors. I picked a leopard-print pair from Christian Louboutin.

T by Alexander Wang - Cropped jersey top & Band of Outsiders - Maxi skirt
This look will be for the Spring time. Cropped top is under the spotlight in Asia. It probably won’t work not in Canada due to the freezing weather. Remember to wear a high-waisted bottom with cropped top. I like how refreshing mint looks with cotton white. Find your spring/summer sandals for this look. A straw hat will make the combination perfect for a delight trip.

Malene Birger - Mahima blazer & Cushnie et Ochs - Cutout dress
You can ware this ivory neoprene dress with or without the blazer. To aim Princess Ariel’s look, I would recommend this light sky-colored blazer. You don’t need to “actually” wear it, simply place it on your shoulders for chicness.

Burberry Prorsum - Lace shirt
This lilac semi-sheer lace shirt is delicate and feminine, from Audrey Hepbum-inspired Resort ’14 collection. I suggest to layer it with a nude camisole instead of white.

Roland Mouret - Maxi skirt

The curve-skimming design reminds me the curves of the mermaid’s tail and its movement under the sea. The indigo hue reminds me the mysterious of the ocean. Pair with a silk/chiffon top (preferably a light-colored one)

Rosantica - Piccola pearl headband
It is handcrafted with pearls carefully placed onto branches, creating a 3D effect. The mermaid should wear something comes from the sea.

Sophie Bille Brahe - 14-karat ankle bracelet
One simple flawless Akoya Pearl will enchant your ankle.

Olympia Le-Tan - Miami clutch
